Testing & Verification

As a triple bottom line company, Be Green is proud of our environmental memberships, third party certifications, audits and background of third party tests. We set ourselves apart from other sustainable packaging companies not only in our commitment to our whole-system packaging operation, but also in the transparency through which we conduct our entire business.

In addition to our certifications, Be Green's products have undergone numerous tests and studies as described below. To request certificates or documentation of these results, please contact Eva Van Wingerden, our Director of Eco-Social Initiatives, at eva.vw@begreenpackaging.com

non-gmo project verification

Be Green Packaging's unlined fiber food service packaging was Non-GMO Project verified in 2011. This project label provides consumers with a conscious option to buy products that are third party certified.

A significant body of scientific research has concluded that genetically modified crops can be toxic, allergenic or less nutritious than their natural counterparts. In addition, GMO crops can disrupt the natural ecosystem, can increase chemical inputs over the long term and can exacerbate a wide range of social and economic problems.

safety packaging parameters

Be Green’s fiber products have been tested by Independent Laboratories for safety and performance under high and low temperature conditions. Our products are safe for use in the oven, freezer, refrigerator and microwave. In addition, our products exhibit excellent grease and moisture resistance.

As tested by Independent Laboratories our products are:

• Freezer safe at -25º C for 4 hours
• Oven safe at 350º F for 1 hour
• Microwave oven safe for 10 minutes (IEC power 1000)

microbiological and heavy metals testing

As part of our commitment to provide our customers with a healthy and sustainable product, we have made it a priority to conduct regular third party testing.  Independent Laboratories conducts quarterly microbiological analyses and annual heavy metals tests on our fiber packaging products.
