SANTA BARBARA – Be Green Packaging announced today the official launch of its new web-based packaging store, which will allow small restaurants and consumers alike to purchase plant-fiber trays, plates, cups, and other foodservice items directly from the company. The web store was developed with the intent of streamlining the ordering process for small businesses and customers looking for smaller quantities of product. Interested parties will be able to order cases of the company’s packaging from the new website via debit or credit card and have the product shipped to any location worldwide. Be Green will be running the operation out of its new manufacturing and distribution facility located in Ridgeland, South Carolina.
The company will be offering a full foodservice line consisting of plant fiber plates, trays, sample cups, clamshells and sushi trays. Be Green’s compostable and recyclable packaging is manufactured from annually renewable bulrush fiber. The company has distinguished itself from other purveyors of fiber packaging by garnering a host of independent, 3rd party environmental and social certifications from organizations such as the Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute, Intertek, the American Institute of Baking (AIB), BPI, the Non-GMO Project, and Western Michigan University’s Recycling Program, among others.
“This website is a direct response to demand from businesses, universities, schools, restaurants and other smaller customers that do not fit into our traditional distribution system. We are really aiming to simplify the ordering process for them.” Stated Ron Blitzer, CEO of Be Green. “The goal here is to make our packaging accessible to anyone interested in embracing sustainability. This move is not intended to compete with existing distributors who will continue to have the best prices in the supply chain.”
In addition to the e-commerce site, Be Green also maintains an active news blog, which is regularly updated with information on the company’s achievements and community outreach programs. Be Green also maintains an extensive homepage that provides in-depth information on a wide variety of topics on all aspects of the company.
